Nuclear Cardiology (NC)
CPSI provides a comprehensive program for all aspects of hospital-based and free-standing nuclear cardiology programs. Designed to address the latest regulatory compliance requirements and special considerations unique to the use radiopharmaceuticals for cardiac imaging, CPSI makes it easy by providing hands-on support and a proven standardized approach, tailored to the client’s specific license condition and operational needs. Services include:
  • Audits and Reports - Quarterly and Annual with verbal report of findings followed by written report, that include review of:
    • Radiation Safety Training
    • Radiation Protection / Radiation Safety Program
    • Procedures Review and Conformance to Applicable Regulations
    • Records Review, Organization and Conformance

  • Radiation Safety Committee Meeting Attendance (as applicable, if on days of quarterly audits)
  • Radiation Safety and Nuclear Cardiology QA/QC Manual - tailored to facility
    • Includes comprehensive and concise forms and procedures for use in NC
    • Assists staff with documentation, required records, and records maintenance
  • Radiation Safety Officer Updates and Support
  • Equipment Reviews and Evaluations:
    • Quality Control Results (QCR) of Nuclear Medicine Equipment
    • Calibrations and Efficiency Evaluations of well counters and dose calibrators
  • Nuclear Medicine Specific Radiation Protection Program per Facility Radiation Protection Program
  • Personnel Dosimetry Records Review and Summary Reporting in Quarterly Audits
  • Radiation Safety Training Information and Updates
  • Annual Calibration of Survey Meters
  • Leak testing and inventory of sealed sources each quarter.

 

CPSI devotes significant and focused time to perform the quarterly audit, records review, calibrations, report preparation and generation, preparation for the RS Committee Meeting, etc. As such, facility personnel are responsible for submitting accurate and complete records for review and evaluation. CPSI reports are provided in a format that specifies audit and survey findings and recommendations to the Radiation Safety Officer for appropriate follow-up, as necessary.
CPSI services provided are those required for the client to remain in substantial compliance with any applicable regulatory, federal and state codes regarding the safe use of radioactive materials and related license conditions.
